U.S. Navy Will Accompany U.S. Ships In Straight Of Hormuz


U.S. Navy - Straight Of HormuzFresh off the news wire, Reuters is reporting that the U.S. Navy will be accompanying American flagged ships through the Straight Of Hormuz due to safety concerns brought about by recent actions taken by the Iraqi navy.  This coming after Iran fired upon and boarded a ship previously thought to be that of United States origin but was later learned to be flagged by the Marshall Islands.

According to officials, the security measure will be a limited time effort and Navy ships currently in the area would be those to handle the task  It was further added that the Navy will not be escorting, but rather keeping the travelling vessels under surveillance for potential threats from Iraqi, or other entities.
